Arte Viva Management is a boutique artist & arts management agency.
Based in Cape Town, South Africa, Arte Viva Management was founded in 2016 by Nikki Froneman, with more than 20 years of experience in arts & culture management and production.
Arte Viva Management focuses on three areas:
1) Arte Viva Artistes represents a roster of professional actors & actresses, performing in theatre, film, television & on radio.
Arte Viva Artistes is a partnership between Nikki Froneman & Sam Hughes (previously de Romijn).
2) Arte Viva Music represents a roster of selected Southern African & international musicians, mainly in the jazz and contemporary indigenous & traditional genres.
3) Arte Viva Productions provides local and international tour & project services for music and the performing arts, working with a strong network of independent suppliers and professionals.

MEET THE TEAM

NIKKI FRONEMAN
Managing Director
Nikki is a respected arts producer & artist manager with some 20 years of experience working in the performing arts and music, on festivals, tours, cultural projects and live events. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of Cape Town and a Diploma in Marketing & Business Management from Damelin College.
From 2006 to 2011, she lived in Latin America, mainly in Buenos Aires, where she started and ran Proyecto 34ºS, a platform to promote artistic exchange between Africa and Latin America, working with over 150 collaborators and artists across multiple projects, mainly theatre-based. She also ran a highly praised home restaurant, Afro-Kitschen, specialising in African food.
She returned to South Africa in 2012 and freelanced for 5 years, working in theatre & music as a production/tour/artist manager as well as in film as a production coordinator/manager & cast coordinator/casting director, including for the award-winning The Whale Caller, adapted from the novel by Zakes Mda.
She founded Arte Viva Management in 2016 and has subsequently focused on artist management and tour prioduction. She has produced multiple tours for local and international music artists, expanded to open the Acting Agency division (with Sam de Romijn), managed a select group of solo artists and bands, and is proud to be launching a new music roster in April 2022,
Nikki has worked in countries including South Africa, China, Argentina, Brazil, Mozambique, Zimbabwe & France. She is known for her professionalism, vision and commitment to the arts. She is fluent in English, Afrikaans and Spanish, and comfortable working with people from across the globe. She has a great sense of humour and believes in living life with passion and fun! She has a particular interest in promoting access and involvement in the arts to those from all backgrounds and of all abilities. She is committed to the development of the local performing arts & music industries and having South African theatre, dance & music seen, heard and enjoyed around the world.

SAM HUGHES
Artist Manager, Actors' Division
Sam is an artist agent focused on actors and performers. She started off working at Gaenor Cape Town, later Jonathan Swart Management, and then moved to Arte Viva in 2018. She holds a ATCL from the Trinity College of London.
Sam is an experienced theatre producer, and has worked with the cream of South Africa's theatre industry.

MORGAN KAYE
Booking Associate - Europe (Arte Viva Music)
Morgan Kaye has 18 years’ experience in the music industry in Sub Saharan Africa and Western Europe.
Morgan started her career in PR, Radio and Production Management for Electromode IngRooves. She later went on to work for, and co-own lucrative booking agency , G Management, with long-term collaborator Chris Ghelakis. The company was acquired by Universal Music in 2017 after being sub-contracted to facilitate the live activities for The Voice South Africa. G Management rebranded to UMG Live and became the largest booking agency in Sub Saharan Africa.
Morgan relocated to Berlin in 2020 to work for scale-up company, Paradise Worldwide, to head up the publishing and copyright operations for the independent distribution company.
In 2022, she relocated to the Netherlands as global support for Arte Viva.
Morgan also consults to music clients in Sub Saharan Africa, Benelux and Germany.
Arte Viva Management is a proud Member of the PMA.
